Take Hwy 89 north from Truckee to Sierraville, then take Hwy 49 east thru Loyalton.
Approximately 1/2 mile past Loyalton, turn right (south) on Smithneck Rd. Proceed 
4.3 miles on Smithneck to the range, which is on the right by the Rotary Picnic Grounds.
